The Purpose of Alpha Gamma Rho
To make better men, and through them a broader and better agriculture by surrounding our members with influences tending to encourage individual endeavor, resourcefulness, and aggressive effort along the lines making for the development of better mental, social, moral, and physical qualities; to promote a wider aquaintance and a broader outlook on the part of agricultural men through fellowship in a national organization that stands for the best social, mental, and moral development.
Alpha Gamma Rho is a social-professional Ag fraternity that is truely unique when compared to other fraternities at Fresno State. Every member has an agricultural major or backround. Most fraternities focus on the social aspects of the student's lives, but Alpha Gamma Rho deals with both social and professional issues, putting it in a class by itself. We are located on the west end of Fresno State's fraternity mall, allowing easy interaction with other fraternities and sororities on campus.
Our brothers are dedicated to our fraternity, but they are also involved in plenty of other clubs and organizations. These include but are not limited to, the viticulture club, enology society, dairy club, FFA State Conference Committee, and the FFA Field Day Committee.
In the history of our organization, academics has always been a priority and it is no different today. Recently for the fall of 2013, AGR received the 4th highest GPA of the 11 fraternities in IFC. All of our brothers actively participate in class and are constantly striving for the best when it comes to our studies.
Alpha Gamma Rho is always serving the community as well. We participate in philanthropy's year round while also volunteering in various areas of the community in order to do our part in making a better man.
